JBURGOS

JBurgos collection showcased their line for a business savvy woman who isn’t afraid to take risks. My favorite look is the short high low a-line salmon dress is a great look for a night on the town. Its counter-part to that dress the salmon colored slim fitting hitting above the knee garment has my heart. My third look I’m loving is the Lust Green jumper. The collection as a whole is cohesive with contrasting pieces shows how diverse it is. Take the world by storm and be bright and vibrant this year.

Mathiasen

Color blocking, playful print, bold colors is here this coming Spring/Summer 2015. The pop of my life is the colors used in Mathiasen’s line is playful and sophisticated. Who says you can’t have a good time and look professional.  The preppy jackets, zig-zag print aline dress and top, and abstract flora printed trench coat is a great pieces to pair with in any outfit. Young and bold is in all of us deep down. Rebel on 🙂

Rock on to this collection. From the makeup to the clothes show us how to rebel. Taking the color white and making it badass is the thing to do if your a rebel without a cause. I love the use of plaid and this trend is a classic. Especially if you can mix plaid and floral in on shirt is great juxtaposition. More leather and more leather is the amazing to have for every season.

How to Wear Bright Lips for Everyday Wear

Vibrant, sultry, and fun lip colors are in for this season spring and summer. Most people are afraid to wear bright colors on their lips. But in reality they are actually a great essential to try and play around to be playful. How can you call yourself a rebel and you don’t get playful. So wear bright colors.

I found this great video on how to wear bright colors. I love watching Vogue channel on YouTube because they’re always on trend but edgy enough to fit my rebel habit. So this time around rebels sit back, relax, get inspired, and try something new:

Concept Show Los Angeles Fall 2014 Hit the Spotlight of Rebellion with Sumie Tachibana

This season of Concept show made me truly excited about fashion. The designers this year blew me away. Especially, Sumie Tachibana and her design elements of her collection was eye catching. Structural, high lows of blacks with white, and panel pieces was the focus point of Sumie. Futuristic designs are modern for our times. Tell me what you all think leave a comment. So take a look below:

Sumie’s collection screams rebel and who cares just wear it already. If you can’t it wear out on a normal basis then choose a place like a artsy event or fashion event. But, if your brave enough go with it and wear it. Be that fashion rebel. I’ll lead the way of showing you how to rock this type of clothing.

Special showing of Spring and Summer 2014

This past week was a blast. To kick off the holidays I went to the First Glimpse Bloggers-only event housed in Seven Points edgy men’s wear clothing store, where there were offering special discounts and gift ideas.  This event was for a private viewing for bloggers and stylists with serving of Hint cocktails made the night.

The arena of the store was showcased by Media Playground PR where they had a live photo shoot and model installation featuring Pretty Glam Special lingerie showed sweet lingerie wearable art collaborations with Radeo. The artists change from time to time, Radeo is great artist, and the theme of her panties is galaxy and Knot robot bikini. I will be rocking those babies for sure my fav.

Frends stylist headphones are must for a music lover’s wardrobe and fashionistas alike. These babies come with interchangeable headphone caps in gold, luminous oil slick, and girlish teal colors. There are more cap selections and headphone sizes sold at Nordstrom’s. The cool thing is the headphones are collapsible and can be put into your purse. Function meets fashion is on my list for Christmas.

My fellow rebel friends were there with me to also experience the first looks of Silvana K jewelry, made in rebellious Los Angeles with recycled metals of necklaces, earrings, and rings. These jewels are unforgettable and make me daydream of them all.

Miami-based designer Lorie Lester presented Spring 2014 collection and few pieces from Fall 2013. Lester’s designs range from dresses, pantsuits, and skirts. What she is known for is her mesh inserts and elegantly bare styling. The look of the collection is rough grunge and with a feminine boho touch, which can be transformed from day to night looks.

Maybe 🙂  So below are my favs so check those out.

Lets get down to the fashion Rebels. Edge and thought-provocking looks was what I saw at Concept LA, so check out my recap:

The Weekend is here what to wear on a Hot Night Out

No rest for a rebel and her fight for her cause is coming along. I haven’t been posting for a while. The rebel is back and ready to go at like a beast.  It has been hot and I’m ready to relax and go out. One of the trends that is out right now is black and white patterns. This pattern is hard to find especially, a square pattern like what Rihanna wore on the cover of  Elle. So I have given you an example of how to pull this off. I put together black and white solid pieces like in the picture below; start out with a white bandage Alexander Wang Reptile Silk Illusion Crop Top  with a peplum Jason Wu High-waisted skinny leather pants.  Then I accessorize it with the black Caine Ring double spike metal ring that gives the outfit a rough look. Pair it with a Proenza Schouler Lunch Bag Extra Small Leather clutch or something similar because this baby is worth something and if you can’t afford don’t worry.  And if you dare to wear these Dizzy Shades at night you know your a rebel when you walk into a room at night with sunglasses on. I know this may seem silly but why not ? Rebel against the norm of society in the what you wear. Be proud and humble!!!  The add a Gold & Black Tiered Half Moon Necklace . The last thing to add is a perfect pair of heels that are GIVENCHY Albertina Podium Heel in Black  and I know they are pricey but you can always find a bargin somewhere else if you choose. I shall do a post on bargin goodies some time soon. That makes my inside smile. I love bargins and bargins are good for you rebels.  It’s hard out here for a rebel sometimes but it is ok. One day if you like, buy yourself a pair of Givenchy heels when you can. For rebels anything is possible right!!!

What to wear for this hot summer night

Fight on rebels… and follow me on my fb and instagram as well at lei phillips 🙂 Until the next fashion cause rebel on.

What is the purpose of style and fashion. How do they mix ? Plus how do you the consumer make of it in your life?

The answer is up to you. You  can be afraid of making risks with your style or misinterpret fashion but its truly up to you how you want to display yourself to your love ones and others.  What are people wearing out on the streets of life and the runway. This post is about being a visionary in your own light. This week is about visionaries in the fashion industry, street fashion, and the runway. Enjoy both pictures and a video.

Tom Ford is my favorite and what he teaches is that fashion is about the people and fashion changes when we are ready to change. That is so inspirational because we are in control of our own lives and the brands only follow our likes and desires. We are in control. So rebel on baby !!!

“Fashion needs to change when life changes and you only need to move fashion forward whens there is a reason to move fashion forward.”- Tom Ford
